Shipping & delivery
Flooring is heavy and bulky, so how it ships depends on quantity. Here is how it actually works.
Parcel versus freight
Samples and small accessory orders move as normal parcel shipments. Larger orders — several cartons, a full room, or a whole house — generally move by freight on a pallet. Freight is not a worse experience; it is simply the correct method once weight and volume pass a threshold.
Check the shipment on arrival
Inspect the delivery before the driver leaves. Note any visible damage on the carrier's paperwork and photograph it, because freight claims depend on that record being made at delivery rather than days later.
Timing and coverage
Delivery times and shipping costs vary by destination and order size, so we confirm both with your quote rather than publishing a blanket claim. Where an order has special handling requirements, we will tell you before it ships.
Let flooring acclimate after arrival
Do not install the day the shipment lands. Cartons need time in the room where they will be installed so the boards reach moisture equilibrium with that space. Skipping this is one of the most common causes of gaps and movement later.
What freight needs from you
- The delivery address, and whether it is a home, a business or a job site
- Whether a liftgate is required, which matters for residential delivery
- Whether the driver can get a truck close to the drop point
- Who will be there to receive and inspect the shipment
Long flooring cartons ship on a pallet that can be several metres long. If your access is tight — a narrow driveway, a laneway, a downtown street — tell us before the order ships so the delivery is arranged correctly.
